Teesside University short story competition winners

In April 2011 I launched a short story competition for the students and staff at Teesside University. I wrote the beginning of a story called 'It's got to be perfect' and asked the entrants to finish it off!

It was a fun idea and it was very interesting to see how the same beginning could veer off into so many different directions!

The overall winner was the ending from Victoria Brown and if you want to read her story along with the other finalists then you can download the booklet here.

For about twenty years, every December 31st, with a tenacity bordering on insanity I’d make a new year’s resolution. It’s a tradition - like eating Brussel sprouts on Christmas Day, (unquestionably Mother Nature’s joke). I now realise NYR are just as unpalatable.
